"Fox Hunt" Extendable Table by Fabrizio Poldaretti for Linea Arredo, Italy, 1980s

Fabrizio Poldaretti pulled out all the stops when designing his "Caccia Alla Volpe" (Fox Hunt) collection, and so did Linea Arredo when producing it. Elaborate woodwork in walnut and cherrywood is what this collection is all about, making it fitting for the hunting lodges of the rich. The delicate black inlays follow the table's stand, which is reminiscent of cabin windows, and outline the round tabletop. The tabletop is extendable, meaning that, should more "hunters" need it to feast on their spoils, it can be extended to a length of 158 cm, adding 38 cm to the original diameter.
