Pair of space age leather chairs, Italy, 1970s

Featuring a fiberglass shell and black leather cushions, this unknown 1970s design shares many similarities with Mario Bellini's Amanta modular sofa, but goes even further in bending the fiberglass into seductive shapes, notably in the front end and at the top, while also opting for chrome plated rails instead of ball-shaped legs. Both the body and the cushions are in good shape and, despite their rather solemn aspect, make for a very comfortable sitting experience.
