Creating strong shapes out of supple elements is no small feat, but it is possible, as Marco Colombo and Mario Barbaglia's design for Italiana Luce can no doubt testify. The Logo floor lamp stands tall at 195 cm, and does so without flinching. Its light diffuser, once you reach it, can be rotated to cast its light wherever you wish. The long, thin legs connect it to the base, which features a cylindrical fixture similar to the one on top, establishing a partial symmetry which balances this well thought out design. The lamp is in perfect working order and is operated using the footswitch, which has an on/off button and a sliding button for adjusting the brightness.
