Pair of P428 floor lamps by Pia Guidetti-Crippa for Luci Italia, 1970s
Designed by Pia Guidetti-Crippa, these P428 floor lamps are yet another example of the allure of straightforward thinking. A circle, a cylinder, a sphere and nothing more - that is today's recipe, and our appetite is fully satisfied. The generous spherical opaline diffuser sits safely upon the bottom half of a chrome-plated hemisphere and can be lifted to reveal the three lightbulbs contained within. The reason there's three of them becomes apparent when fiddling with the lamp's switch, which acts as a dimmer and slowly turns the bulbs off, or on, one by one. The lamps are in very good condition and have been rewired in order to allow one to use and admire them safely.
