Space Age Trolley Coffee Table Bar, Italy, 1960s

The three purposes this piece serves are highlighted by the designer's materials of choice: the trolley, structural bit is done in white lacquered wood, the coffee table consists of a sheet of smoked glass, and the bar is treated in dark wood veneer. The ensemble rests on four chrome and rubber futuristic wheels which make it easy to shift around. Upon opening the bar lid, one is presented with a generous compartment capable of providing a good time and, due to the low placement of the lid's hinge and its two reinforcements, the lid can serve as a temporary mixing table, if one should wish to use it as such.
