Futuristic and rather alien-looking, this pair of Vertebra chairs, designed by E. Ambasz and G. Piretti for Anonima Castelli are a show-stopper. Constisting of a metal frame, plastic seat and backrest, and a velvet padding, these two chairs grow in beauty the more you look and discover the details. Once you also take a seat, it becomes clear what a design masterpiece they are.

The flexible tubular plastic chosen to cover the armrests is both an aesthetic choice, evocating the technological advances of the day, and a practical one, for it accommodates the mechanism that allows the backrest to rotate and adjust comfortably. The second inovation also only becomes apparent when sitting: the seat, fitted with powerful springs, slides forward just enough to keep one in a comfortable and ergonomic position. If one wishes to stretch out a bit, that is also possible, as the backrest can recline even more, and the seat can slide even further.
