Lovely midcentury off-white "Platone" folding desk designed by Giancarlo Piretti and produced by Anonima Castelli in Italy during the 1970s. The desk is signed on the bottom. In amazing vintage condition, the Platone desk was designed to be presented as a set with the Plia chair, and it is also held in the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York City. The white ivory top beautifully matches the bold, minimalist design of the structure, sustained on one side by an elegant chromed tubular frame. An iconic feature of this desk is the stylish and practical built-in organizer on the front edge of the top — a series of integrated trays and compartments designed to hold pens, glasses, and other everyday essentials, adding both functionality and visual appeal. This stylish desk could function perfectly in a modern or midcentury-style children's room, home office, or creative space.
